Sky £5 a month broadband Deal Review

You may have seen the recent adverts on T.V with Sky offering customers the chance to pick up broadband for only £5 a month in a special deal. There are some terms and conditions that you should be aware of before you do go ahead, as the advert does not make it crystal clear. So I will explain them below.

So what are the terms that you need to know about? First of all if you are looking to take advantage of these cheap prices you have to initially have Sky T.V. So in effect if you just want to sign up for the Sky £5 a month broadband deal and do not want to sign up for Sky T.V then unfortunately this is not possible.
This is one of the things about the advert that is not made clear, but thought I would clear that up for anyone who may be under that impression. So unfortunately if you where under that impression this deal is not going to be for you.

Aside from that the deal's that you can get by combining all or some of your services with Sky represents really good value for money.
Currently in my house we have a standard Sky package and and we get free broadband. What you have to do if you do already have Sky and want the free or £5 a month broadband is pay an activation fee. This activation fee will differ dependent upon a number of factors such as what packages you currently have for your T.V and also if you are currently using Sky for you phone bills. If you subscribe to a certain number of their services then the chances are you will have to pay no activation fee. It is also worth getting on the phone and bartering with them, as the chances are you will be able to get them to waive some of them fees if you are an exisiting customer.

In effect the more services you run through Sky then the less activation fees you will have to pay and the cheaper overall it will be for each service. They have structured it this way to try and get as much custom as possible from their new as well as existing customers.

In my household we currently only have the broadband and the T.V package but are considering changing over to all 3, ie talk, T.V and and broadband as I saw on their website that you can get deals from as low as £17 a month for all 3. So in conclusion I would say that the Sky £5 a month broadband deal is a very good one if you are already with Sky for T.V and are paying for broadband seperately , but it is well worthwhile looking at combining all of your 3 major services ie T.V phone and broadband if you are comfortable doing this as you can get even better deals and pay less overall for each service.

One last tip is to try and sign up online if you can, as you will get less activation fees and they are also offering £15 worth of free credit deposited into your account if you sign up online. You can find out more by clicking the links in the text or on the banner below.
